My Background
My clay story started sometime when I was in high school when I took a few pottery classes because I thought they'd be fun and easier than another language class or history class, but I've been creating since my hands were big enough to hold scissors and cut paper. Clay captured my heart in those first hand building classes, and than I took wheel throwing classes in college as an elective because I wanted to play in the clay more than take "real classes." Real classes got in the way, and I left clay to get a real job for a long time. Somewhere along the way though, I found my way back to the potters wheel in Atlanta, where I had the great privilege of joining the team at Mudfire. My meandering path led me back to my home town, and now I am a guild member of Brantford Potter's Guild, make pottery in brantford, and throw clay in my coverted garage that my loving husband surrendered to my clay career.
